Everyone is invited to a Christian service of recognition and blessing for our Eureka High School Seniors this Saturday. Many of our local pastors will be involved in this service. Dave Lofton, pastor of Severy Nazarene Church will talk about “Concerning Life and Love”. Refreshments will be served following the service for a time of fellowship with the graduates and their families.

May 7, 2017 Worship

May 7th is the Fourth Sunday of Easter. Rev. Chauncey Biby’s message is titled
“Pleasing God” based on Matthew 6:1-6.

Take heed that ye do not your alms before men, to be seen of them: otherwise ye have no reward of your Father which is in heaven. Therefore when thou doest thine alms, do not sound a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. But when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth: That thine alms may be in secret: and thy Father which seeth in secret himself shall reward thee openly. And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.

If you missed last Sunday’s message, you can listen to it on our website:  It’s titled “Desperation”.

J.A.M. Adventures Night

Week Of Compassion

April is Week of Compassion Special Offering Emphasis Month.
Week of Compassion provides an opportunity to act together. In Syria. In Africa. In Asia, and Latin America – wherever there are needs for care, to live out Christ’s call. As we heed the call of our faith – across denominations, working together in unity, as one ecumenical body – we are invited to make more of an impact than any one of us could alone. Together we can make a difference. Not only can we address the immediate needs of those displaced by war and persecution, we can also address the long-term issues of poverty and social injustice. This is the gospel mandate, and the gospel hope.
Christian and Congregational Church Christian Missions and Social Action Committee will be collecting offerings for WOC through May.
