Take heed that ye do not your alms before men, to be seen of them: otherwise ye have no reward of your Father which is in heaven. 2 Therefore when thou doest thine alms, do not sound a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. 3 But when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth: 4 That thine alms may be in secret: and thy Father which seeth in secret himself shall reward thee openly. 5 And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. 6 But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.

Following Worship
Last week Rev. Biby made a suggestion that our church participate in the Community LinC Dinners by baking and serving cookies and cakes. Many were interested and willing to contribute these desserts.
April 23, 2017 Worship
April 23rd is the Second Sunday of Easter. Rev. Chauncey Biby will deliver a message based on 2 Samuel 6:6-7.
6 And when they came to Nachon’s threshingfloor, Uzzah put forth his hand to the ark of God, and took hold of it; for the oxen shook it. 7 And the anger of the Lord was kindled against Uzzah; and God smote him there for his error; and there he died by the ark of God.
It’s titled “Jesus Is Lord of All”.
Week Of Compassion
Week of Compassion provides an opportunity to act together. In Syria. In Africa. In Asia, and Latin America – wherever there are needs for care, to live out Christ’s call. As we heed the call of our faith – across denominations, working together in unity, as one ecumenical body – we are invited to make more of an impact than any one of us could alone. Together we can make a difference. Not only can we address the immediate needs of those displaced by war and persecution, we can also address the long-term issues of poverty and social injustice. This is the gospel mandate, and the gospel hope.
